In the age of disinformation, it is paramount that we all learn how to think critically about the media we consume -- Youtube videos, TV ads, podcasts, websites, and more. Teacher education plays a pivotal part in this effort because teachers foster critical thinking and analysis in their classrooms.

An interdisciplinary team of scholars at UMass Amherst, including College of Education faculty Torrey Trust and Robert Maloy, EDUC doctoral student Lauren Goodman, and Senior Lecturer Allison Butler, director of undergraduate advising in communications, have published an article that charts a path to establishing a more media literate society.
