UMass’s Office of National Scholarship Advisement (ONSA) invites you to attend a Boren Scholarship & Fellowship Virtual Info Session on Thursday, October 24, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

A Boren Awards representative will discuss eligibility criteria, application components, and the application process, and will answer questions from attendees. Registration to attend this info session is required.

The Boren scholarship is an opportunity for U.S. undergraduates to receive funded study abroad (up to $12,500 per semester / $25,000 per year) for immersive learning of less-commonly taught languages. The Boren is for students who are considering a future career in public service.

The Boren enables students to gain proficiency in among more than 60 languages spoken in Eurasia, Africa, East Asia, Latin America, South Asia, and the Middle East. Students can propose their own study abroad programs for funding, or participate in one of the Regional Flagship Initiatives administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE).

The ONSA Team will send the Zoom link to registrants before the session.

This event is co-sponsored by the Graduate School Office of Professional Development.
