John Ciampa

John Ciampa earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from UMass Amherst in 2004, and began working as a reporter for Gatehouse Media New England shortly after graduating. He joined the Communications and Media Studies program at Tufts University in 2007, and over the next nine years provided academic advising, career and internship counseling, and senior project committee support to undergraduates, while also leading program’s communications and outreach efforts. He also continued to work as freelance reporter in the Boston area during this time. 

He returned to UMass in 2017 to work in the College of Education, joining the Journalism Department as an undergraduate advisor in 2019.
