A new paper co-authored by Brandyn Churchill, resource economics, has been published in Health Behavior and Policy Review. "State SUNucate Laws, the Popularity of Google Searches for Terms Related to Sun Protection, and Youth Sunscreen Use" set out to discover whether state laws requiring schools to allow the use of sunscreen by students were associated with changes in Google Search behavior related to sun protection. The research found that Google search popularity for the term "sunscreen" increased by 27.2%, and that the SUNucate laws were associated with an increased sunscreen use among high school students.
