Jayati Ghosh, economics, has written an op-ed for Project Syndicate on the challenges facing India's employment market. While many in the media celebrate India's story of economic growth, Ghosh notes that the narrative is skewed due to policies that benefit only the top 10-20% of income earners, a lack of accurate data on employment within the country, a failure to create employment opportunities, and stagnant wages.

"Without far-reaching reforms aimed at boosting employment and guaranteeing living wages, India will  struggle to achieve genuine economic success," cautions Ghosh.
